The 2016 Critical Theory Annual Symposium is taking place on Wednesday, April 27, 5:00 -7:00/8:30, in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom. The slash between the two ending times marks the point at which—following the tradition of the "symposion"—the Q&A will begin overlapping with our buffet dinner from It's Greek To Me. (Bring your ID, though plenty of non-alcoholic drinks will also be available to ensure your uncompromising participation in the symposion.) Our topic this year is "Orientalism, Postcolonialism, Globalization," and our three speakers are widely esteemed scholars and Macalester cherished teachers and colleagues: David Blaney (Political Science), Julia Chadaga (Russian Studies), Khaldoun Samman (Sociology). Each talk will last 15 minutes, followed by Q&A. Contact: davism@macalester.edu This event is for: Alumni, Students, Staff, Faculty and Public Sponsored By: Critical Theory
