Spiritual Sense & Stories
St. John's Women in the Spirit invite you to a very special day! Our guest is Atlanta-based inspirational writer and speaker, Dr. Beth-Sarah Wright, originally from Jamaica. She has lived and studied worldwide, from Scotland to Puerto Rico. Wright tackles issues of faith and depression, the stigmas of mental illness and the role telling your story plays in healing. She holds a PhD in Performance Studies from NYU, a BA (magna cum laude) from Princeton in Sociology and Afro-American studies, and an MPhil in Anthropology from Cambridge.
"I want to tell my story and encourage others to share their stories so that we may all benefit together as we travel on our healing journey. I believe we are all on some journey towards wholeness in our bodies, souls and minds," says Dr. Wright.
Arrival is 8:30am for continental breakfast followed by a Morning Devotion. The morning continues with teaching sessions and time for shared conversation before we break at 12:00pm for lunch together. Following lunch, you'll have hands-on time with art supplies, time to walk, write or draw, meditate in our quiet prayer room, or explore the beautiful grounds, etc. The rest of the afternoon will include additional joyful teachings, music and prayer. As we close, we will enter into worship at 4:00pm before heading home at 5:30pm.
