Tunkhannock Youth Choir
Thank you for your interest in our Tunkhannock Youth Choir! The choir exists to provide a low-pressure, high-quality group musical experience for young people of all ages. We welcome homeschoolers, private schoolers, or just anyone who loves to sing and wants to join us. All ability and knowledge levels are welcome and appreciated. (For more advanced students, solos and/or small ensembles are available.) We rehearse in the fellowship hall in the basement of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, on the corners of Warren and Church street. There is a parking lot behind the church available for our use. We are kicking off the choir with an eight week summer session. Rehearsal dates are Tuesdays, 6/7, 6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/26, Thursday 7/28, and Tuesday, 8/2. Rehearsal times will be as follows: Pre-K- Kindergarten: 3:30 1st-4th grades: 4:00 5th-8th grades: 4:30 9th-12th grades: 5:15 On Thursday, 7/28, the older grade's rehearsal times will be slightly shorter to meet the needs of the church. 5th-8th will begin at 4:30, and 9th-12th will begin at 5:00. A closing concert will be held on Friday, August 5th at 6 p.m. with refreshments to follow. NOTE: I'd love to meet with your child beforehand to check range and ability so that I can place him or her in the correct voice part.This will help ensure students a positive experience in the choir. Come in Tuesday, 5/24 between 3:30-6 for this low-pressure, 10 minute "audition." (All students are accepted.) Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? If you have your printed ticket, please bring it along. If you are unable to print it, that's okay too. Tell me your name and children's names and we will take care of registration at the first rehearsal. What is the refund policy? The last day to register is Sunday, 5/15. After this date, I cannot issue any refunds. This is because I have already ordered your music. I am happy to issue refunds up until Saturday, 5/14 for families who have to back out.
