Legacy

Legacy
Self publishing

We got word yesterday that our paper "The effects of repeat collaboration on creative abrasion" was accepted for publication in the Academy of Management Review, one of the premier journals in business research and one I have been wanting to get into during my career. The paper proposes a theory of why repeat collaborations are often creatively disappointing, and what teams can do to counter these negative effects. This is about my 70th journal publication.

For an academic, the hope is that at least one of our ideas will become a legacy, but the reality is that only a few theories remain in the buzz of the community year to year and decade to decade.
