Introduction to Counselling - Saturdays 10.00am - 12.00pm  Session 1: Saturday 9th April Session 2: Saturday 16th April Session 3: Saturday 23rd April (Break Saturday 30th April - Spring Bank Holiday Weekend - No session) Session 4: Saturday 7th May Session 5: Saturday 14th May Session 6: Saturday 21st May This is a 6 week course that provides an accessible and interesting introduction to the theory and practice of counselling. While the course is primarily theoretical, it also develops some awareness of the basic skills in counselling practice. This is an introductory course, which is open to anyone interested in obtaining and learning how to use counselling skills in any area of life whether personal or professional.  It is ideal for those looking to gain self awareness, considering a change of career to counselling or working in a role where skills for active listening and dealing effectively and in a helpful manner with difficult or distressed people are required. It can also help parents and carers acquire powerful yet underestimated tools needed when being responsible for others. You will get a good grounding in key topics in counselling, including its cultural and historical origins; different theoretical orientations; and the vital role of the counselling relationship. Booking Terms and Conditions: To reserve a place we must receive your non-refundable registration fee of £50. You will then be contacted for the final balance of £175 no later than two weeks before the start of the course. Though numbers for our workshops are limited, it is also necessary to achieve a minimum attendance to make the course viable. In cases where the minimum attendance is not achieved, we reserve the right to cancel workshops; participants will have their fees fully refunded or offered an alternative session. Late applications cannot be guaranteed a place; however we will endeavour to accommodate you.  Attendance: The first seminar must be attended by all participants who book onto this course.  To receive your Certificate of Attendance you must attend at least 5 of the sessions and must notify your tutor if you will miss a session.  Cancellations: Must be made in writing to training@counsellingfoundation.org.  In the event of the facilitator cancelling due to adverse weather/illness/or unforeseen circumstances the participant may choose to be refunded or booked onto the rearranged course or choose another Introduction to Counselling course. In the event of a cancellation by the participant up to 2 weeks prior to the start of the course, we will refund the final balance only. Registration fees are non-refundable. Fees will not be refunded for any cancellations made by the participant less than 2 weeks prior to the start of course.
