Seeking to take the LEED Green Associate Exam in 2016? Join our study group! With new jobs specifying the need for green building expertise, the LEED professional credential shows a clear commitment to your professional growth, while underscoring your value to LEED project teams and sustainability-focused organizations. The study group will cover all aspects of the exam, including an introduction to the exam process, detailed overview of each credit category, and help preparing personal study materials. Instead of studying on your own, be part of our group! Who should attend? Individuals who have already taken an Exam Prep course or have started preparing. Study group members are expected to have familiarity with the LEED rating system and exam requirements. The study group is not meant to replace an exam preparation course. February 16: Introduction & LEED Process, Sustainable Sites March 15: Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere April 19: Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality May 17: Innovation in Design, Regional Priority June 21: Summary & Review Registration closes the day before each session at 4:30 PM. If you purchase the "Full Study Group" ticket () and pass your exam before the end of the year, we'll give you a free membership with USGBC Wisconsin. Why be part of a study group? Helps with procrastination. Schedule study times help prevent delays or putting-off tasks when other people are relying on you. Understand/absorb information more efficiently. When working in a group, you have the opportunity to seek clarification, exchange ideas, and disagree/reason with other people. Different perspectives. Each group member has different qualities/ideas to offer to the study group, giving perspecitve on concepts and helping develop critical skills. Improve/develop new study skills. You can observe a wide variety of study methods and incorporate them into your regimen. Good company! Studying by yourself can get boring and monotonous. Talking it over with a group can help that and make it a little more enjoyable. Minimizes test anxiety. Being in a study group with motivated peers is often helpful to reducing concern, worry, or fear of the exam. Enhance your personal/professional skills. A study group can encourage you to think creatively and build strong communication skills since its success relies on collaboration with others.
