Creative Conversation with Natasha Lester Wednesday 4 May, 7pm - 9pm FAWWA/KSP members, non-members (plus Eventbrite processing fee) *BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL* Come join us for a Creative Conversation with Natasha Lester to discuss her third novel A Kiss From Mr Fitzgerald (published by Hachette) which follows a young woman ahead of her time amid the glamour of 1920s New York. Moderated by emerging writer Emily Paull, the conversation will delve into the process, research and historical detail involved in crafting this evocative tale of Evelyn Lockhart, who is forbidden from pursuing her passion: to become one of the first female doctors. Audience Q&A will follow the interview. Wine and nibbles will be provided!! Tickets will sell fast, so book now to avoid disappointment! Bios: Natasha Lester: Award-winning author Natasha Lester worked as a marketing executive for ten years, including stints at cosmetic company L'Oreal, managing the Maybelline brand, before returning to university to study creative writing. She completed a Master of Creative Arts as well as her first novel, What Is Left Over, After, which won the T.A.G. Hungerford Award for Fiction. Her second novel, If I Should Lose You, was published by Fremantle Press. The Age newspaper has described Natasha as "a remarkable Australian talent", and her work has appeared in The Review of Australian Fiction and Overland, and the anthologies Australian Love Stories, The Kid on the Karaoke Stage and Purple Prose. Her third novel A Kiss from Mr Fitzgerald is due for release in April 2016 (published by Hachette). Emily Paull: Emily is a writer, blogger and a bookseller, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Creative Writing. Her short fiction has appeared in METIOR, (Re)Sisters and the forthcoming Margaret River Press Anthology, and was shortlisted for the 2015 John Marsden/ Hachette Australia Young Writers' Award. In 2014 she was young writer in residence at the KSP Centre in the Perth Hills. She writes short fiction and historical fiction.   FAQs   What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? There is ample parking at the Allen Park Oval car park next to Mattie Furphy House (on Kirkwood Road). Overflow parking is available on the grassed section on Kirkwood Road. Either bring your printed ticket or be prepared to show your ticket on your smartphone or tablet. We will have a printout of the guest list if you forget - just show some ID.  What is the refund policy? We will allow full refunds up until 48 hours prior to the event to allow sufficient notice for those on the waitlist. Any refund request later than 48 hours prior to the event will only be granted a 50% partial refund.
